South Downs

The South Downs offer great views, attractive wildlife, fine pubs and pretty villages. The area has more than 3,000 kilometres of well-signed, well-managed and easily accessible trails for you to explore on foot, bicycle or even horseback!

If you’re feeling adventurous, the South Downs Way awaits! It’s a National Trail that stretches the entire length of the National Park. You’ll also find lots of Country Parks and other countryside sites and woodlands are open to the public.

Enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the High Chalk Downland and the small fields and deep-wooded valleys of the Weald. Discover the ancient history of the area with its Iron Age hill forts, historic castles, charming old villages and parish churches.
